Flexovital+Beetroot is based on the Nobel Prize-winning discovery of the nitric oxide molecule, a discovery that led to new blood pressure and heart medications. When we conducted the first animal study at KI, we hoped to show that Flexovital has a protective effect on blood vessels and the heart and has a positive effect on blood pressure.
What does this mean?
Flexovital+Beetroot is unique because there are very few food supplements consisting of only natural substances that have a proven effect. It’s an animal study but there’s no reason to think it doesn’t work the same way in humans. But of course we have to show that and we have planned a human study later this autumn.

The great health challenges of our time
The major health challenges of our time are obesity, diabetes and cardiovascular diseases as a result of a poor Western diet (ultra-processed food) and too little exercise.
Our results are far beyond expectations
Researchers at KI in Stockholm have developed a new animal model to study how Western junk food affects organs such as the heart, blood vessels and kidneys. What you see is that as a result of this type of diet, the animals develop serious damage to the kidneys, heart and blood vessels.
New study already this autumn
The results have been presented at a couple of congresses during the year, such as at the Gordon Conference in 2023 and now at the ERA Congress in Stockholm in 2024. The results will also be published in a scientific article after the summer of 2024. Bioconcept AB has planned a larger follow-up study at KI after the summer and later this fall the plan is to do a human study.
